A primary goal of the Arizona NASA Space Grant Consortium is to support creative and cost-effective K-12 outreach efforts, especially to under-served populations in our state. Across Arizona, we support outreach efforts to K-12 students and teachers at local and remote reservation schools. Many of these are geared to bring knowledgeable practitioners of science–conducting real scientific experiments, demonstrations and observations–to young students and their teachers. We believe that hands-on, interactive science should be disseminated as broadly as possible in all schools. We strive to support teacher training programs, such as Teachers in Industry, aimed at increasing the effectiveness of classroom science teaching.
